Is seat reservation mandatory?

It is not mandatory to reserve a seat on our trains, whether in first or second class. However, it is highly recommended, especially during busy periods. 

For the Prestige class, it is mandatory to make a seat reservation at CHF 49.00 per reserved seat. In addition, you must have a valid first-class travel ticket. 

 

How much does it cost to reserve a seat?

GoldenPass Panoramic et Belle-Epoque

The reservation costs CHF 10.00 per journey and per person regardless of the length of the journey, the class and the price category of the passenger.

GoldenPass Express

The reservation costs CHF 20.00 per journey and per person, regardless of the length of the journey, the class and the price category of the passenger.

Is seat reservation available on all trains?

Advance seat reservations are only available on the GoldenPass Line between Montreux - Gstaad - Zweisimmen*. *Then to Interlaken Ost from 11 December 2022.

How to buy a ticket / reserve a seat?

Tickets and/or seat reservations can be purchased directly online. Under this link (https://journey.mob.ch/en/routing/).

You can select the departure station (e.g. Montreux), the destination station (e.g. Gstaad) the date and time of travel.

When you click "Find connection", the timetable search starts and a selection of routes is suggested. We recommend that you select the "GoldenPass Panoramic", "GoldenPass Belle-Epoque" and "GoldenPass Express" products.

I want to book a seat on the entire GoldenPass Line, how can I do?

Currently only the GoldenPass Panoramic and GoldenPass Belle-Epoque trains between Montreux and Zweisimmen as well as the GoldenPass Express trains between Montreux and Interlaken Ost (from the end of 2022) can be booked online.

The Luzern-Interlaken Express trains between Interlaken Ost and Lucerne can be booked directly via the Zentralbahn.

How to book only a seats?

To reserve a seat only, you can select the "Reservation only" option under "Discount". No transport ticket will be issued.

Can I book a seat on site?

Yes, if the reservation is made at least 2 hours before the departure of the train.

I haven’t received my order confirmation – what should I do?

After completing your purchase, a confirmation email is automatically sent to the address you provided.
If you don’t see it in your inbox, please check your spam or junk mail folder.

If you still can’t find the confirmation, please contact us here and provide the following details:

  • Exact name used during the booking
  • Email address used for the purchase
  • Date of the order
