Valid ticket required

Before boarding the train, it is mandatory to have a valid transport ticket and to present it to MOB staff on request.

Tickets can be purchased: 

  • At ticket machines
  • Online at mob.ch or sbb.ch
  • At staffed MOB and SBB counters
  • Via the SBB and FAIRTIQ Mobile App

If the ticket machine is unavailable (e.g. if it is out of order), please use another channel or point of sale to obtain a valid transport ticket.

 

Penalties for no valid ticket

Traveling without a valid transport ticket incurs a minimum surcharge of CHF 90.-, CHF 10.- for the fare, and 
CHF 25.- for administrative fees. The amount will increase for repeat offenses.

Respect and protection of Staff

Insults, threats, and acts of violence against staff are prosecuted ex officio (Art. 59 of the Passenger Transport Act).

Failure to comply with the regulations and/or adopting inappropriate behavior may result in a sanction ranging from a warning to a ban from using the MOB / MVR network. The right to take legal, civil, and criminal action in case of non-compliance with legal provisions is reserved.

Behavior on board

It is forbidden to disturb other passengers, broadcast sounds through speakers, put shoes on the seats, or soil the premises.

Keep it clean

Please keep trains and public areas clean. Please throw away any trash in the bins.

Stops on request

Press the STOP button or, when the train is approaching, wave to the driver. It is strictly forbidden to misuse the stop and emergency devices.

Bicycle transport

Subject to availability, bicycle transport on trains is allowed with a valid bicycle ticket.

Prohibitions

We remind you that it is prohibited to:

  • enter or cross the tracks or block rescue, evacuation and traffic routes.
  • obstruct the movement of passengers and MOB/MVR staff.
  • ride any type of vehicle (bicycles, scooters, etc.), with the exception of vehicles for people with reduced mobility (e.g. wheelchairs).
  • transport chemicals and hazardous substances.
  • smoke, including electronic cigarettes, or consume any other intoxicating substances.
  • misuse emergency and stop devices.
